2020 Acura NSX Review

Technology can be both a blessing and a curse, which is evident in the 2020 Acura NSX. On the one hand, it relies heavily on technology, seamlessly combining a petrol V6 with three electric motors . On the other hand, technology can be a crutch and reduce driver engagement and fun. The NSX is undoubtedly easy to drive quickly, but it does not move the soul like other sports cars do. Like the original that came out of production in 2005, today’s Acura NSX aims to provide a supercar look and performance in a daily living package. In fact, there is plenty of room for two passengers, and you don’t have to bend over an origami crane to get in and out. Behind these passengers is a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 which, with an electric motor, powers the rear wheels; It is assisted by two other electric motors which individually drive each front wheel for precise power during the turn. Total production is 573 horsepower. Still, the Acura NSX is less robust than many other mid-engined sports cars at this price. After receiving a few minor updates last year, the 2020 Acura NSX has hardly changed since the 2019 Acura NSX. There is a new paint color, Indy Yellow, which will burn the corneas, and c ‘is all. The new color is a return to Spa Yellow presented on the original 2020 Acura NSX (it was known as Indy Yellow in some other markets), and it joins Saloon Black as one of the colors inherited from the car sport.

2020 Acura NSX Exterior and Interior

Considered the everyday supercar, the 2020 Acura NSX is certainly comfortable and intuitive enough for anyone to use it as a daily driver. But its cabin does not have the upscale feel and luxurious amenities one would expect from an Acura, not to mention one that is destined to compete with the best in England and Germany. Our test car featured optional leather and faux suede seats, a faux suede interior roof, and a carbon fiber steering wheel. The bright red leather attracted the youngest of our staff, but some found it garish and youthful. Although the seats are comfortable, we would prefer better thigh support and enthusiastic drivers will probably want more lateral reinforcement as well. For something marketed like the daily supercar, the interior storage cabins in the 2020 Acura NSX aren’t particularly expensive. Your trunk is located just behind the engine, which can be annoying when transporting your Häagen-Dazs home. In addition, we managed to place only one of our hand luggage inside the small trunk.

The 2020 Acura NSX has an infotainment system with a 7.0-inch touch screen with integrated navigation as standard and connected to an ELS Studio stereo with nine speakers. As with other interior rooms, the touch screen system comes from miners from Acuras and Hondas, and the same complaints we have about them also apply here. The system interface seems already dated and we have found that the menu settings are not intuitive. To make matters worse, its lack of redundant buttons and the touch volume slider, which makes fine adjustments difficult, add an extra layer of complexity.

Its lack of driver assistance features and the lack of crash test data can be a concern for safety-conscious consumers; Neither the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has performed crash tests for the 2020 Acura NSX. A complete standard airbag system provides an acceptable level of protection.

2020 Acura NSX Engine

The 2020 Acura NSX is only available as a two-seat, two-door coupe in a single performance specification. Power comes from a combination of a 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 engine and electric motors with 573 horsepower and 476 lb-ft of torque. Hybrid vehicles are more efficient in urban traffic than their petrol only rivals, and the NSX is no different. An EPA rating of 21 mpg in the city beats the Audi R8 V-10 by a whopping 7 mpg. The Porsche 911 Carrera 4S corresponds to the 21 mpg rating of the 2020 Acura NSX in the city and beats the 2020 Acura NSX on the highway with a rating of 28 mpg; The 2020 Acura NSX is rated at 22 mpg on the highway. In our actual highway fuel economy test, the 2020 Acura NSX delivered 23 decent mpg, slightly surpassing its EPA rating but lagging behind its non-hybrid rivals.

2020 Acura NSX Release Date and Price

Price and purchase of the 2020 Acura NSX: $ 159,495. Acura does not separate the NSX line into versions, so there is only one model that you can customize to your liking. We are digging in bright colors, so it’s essential to opt for the new Indy Yellow or Thermal Orange (which was transferred from last year), as one of the shades will cost you $ 1,000. You can go crazy with the interior colors; none of them cost more, and the schemes include indigo blue, red, saddle (brown), orchid (off-white) and ebony. If you can bear your cost of $ 9,900 ($ 10,600 with your choice of silver, red or orange calipers), the carbon-ceramic brake discs are worth it if you plan to take your NSX on the track. The Mercedes-Maybach GLS is even more expensive, with a mark of $ 200,000. But auto industry experts predict that the 2020 Acura NSX Type R will be very close to that price. Maybe even go a little over 200K. We look forward to the unveiling of the Acura NSX during the first press day of the Tokyo Motor Show. If presented, the vehicle goes to Honda because the NSX is sold with the parent company badge.
